A philanthropic essay asking Forbes actively to promote Indian trade in order to alleviate Indian native poverty. Sir Charles Forbes (1774-1849) was himself a distinguished and tireless activist on behalf of India. Head of a leading mercantile house in Bombay, he was a major promoter of both the commercial development of the country and the improvement in the position of the natives. Price - £85 |
